Next you’ll need to ‘comb’ or ‘card’ the fleece – the simplest way to describe this is to think of the comb as one you’d use in your hair, teasing out the kinks and knots in the fleece. And carding works in a similar way – except the brush is more akin to one you’d use to groom the dog. Both these methods have their advantages depending on the type of fibre you’re using.
