Central to this movement is Susan Sharp, owner of Sharp Works in Railton Road.
Originally set up to be her studio, it is now crammed to bursting with yarns of all colours and textures, knitting books, needles and vintage buttons. Walk by and you’ll see knitters sitting on the deep red cinema chairs (salvaged from the days when Herne Hill actually had a cinema) as they chat or seek advice on their latest project.
