‘Knitting didn’t come naturally for me but once it came right, I was delighted and before I opened my shop, my favourite way to spend a day would be to go John Lewis, buy a pattern and yarn and just sit down and do it. It’s like a jigsaw – you work at it until you get the result in the picture.'
