“I don’t really have a sweet tooth,” confesses Shikhita Singh – a somewhat surprising admission from the woman behind Fair Cake – one of London’s freshest cupcake companies.

But Shikhita isn’t your usual saccharine-sprinkling domestic goddess. Working from her home in The Royal Arsenal complex in Woolwich, she looks out onto the river and beyond that, the City where she used to work as a fund manager.
